Rare Art Deco bangle with diamonds & rubies in platinum Platinum - France, circa 1910-1915:

An exceptional bangle from the early Art Deco period, crafted entirely in platinum -

the precious material that marked the highest standards of precision and style around 1910.

The slender, oval hoop shape of the antique bangle bears an elongated, navette-shaped cartouche in the center,

which gives the piece its striking, elegant silhouette.

A larger old-cut diamond sits in the center, set in a delicately grained milgrain setting.

It is surrounded by a heart-shaped curved frame of calibré-cut, glowing pink rubies,

which - neatly set end to end - form a closed color surface.

A pavé of fine diamond roses/old-cut diamonds accompanies the ruby frame and

continues over the tapered shoulders.

Triangular ruby segments are set into the shoulders, emphasizing the navette motif and elegantly

elegantly draw the eye upwards.

The edges of the cartouche are millegrened throughout, which gives the diamond pavé the typical,

fine-grained luster of the era.

The sides of the bangle feature chased engravings - a beautiful handcrafted detail,

which underlines the value and gives the platinum additional character.
