Antique Art Nouveau necklace in 15-karat yellow gold with citrine, pink tourmalines, aquamarine, and seed pearls—Belle Époque, circa 1900:
A piece of jewelry straight out of a fairy tale—delicate, poetic, and exceptionally elegant.
This enchanting antique necklace was created around 1900 during the Art Nouveau period, at the threshold between the Victorian era and the Belle Époque,
a time when jewelry was created not only as an ornament but as an expression of art and an appreciation of nature.
The necklace was crafted entirely from 15-karat yellow gold, whose warm golden hue beautifully highlights the soft pastel colors of the gemstones
way.
At its center is an artfully crafted centerpiece designed in the shape of a stylized butterfly —
a popular Art Nouveau symbol representing lightness, beauty, change, and the transience of nature.
The top is crowned by a finely faceted citrine in a warm, light golden hue, whose sunny glow
immediately catches the eye.
Nestled on either side are two beautiful pink tourmalines in soft shades of pink nestle into the elegantly curved
wings of the butterfly.
These are framed by numerous delicate seed pearls, that lend the filigree lines an almost floating
lightness and enrich the design with an incomparably delicate luster.
Particularly charming are the two freely moving pendants that swing down below the butterfly.
On delicate gold link chains, which are also set with small seed beads, stylized flower buds and
teardrop shapes—as is characteristic of floral Art Nouveau.
The pendants culminate in a light blue aquamarine and another delicate pink tourmaline,
which look like shimmering dewdrops on a flower and lend the piece an extraordinary vibrancy.
The delicate necklace itself also blends harmoniously into the overall design.
It consists of a delicate gold link chain, which is interspersed at regular intervals along the front with small seed beads at regular intervals along the front section.
This creates a smooth transition from the necklace to the center piece and
a particularly elegant overall look.
The necklace fastens with a classic spring ring clasp.
The color combination of this extraordinary piece of jewelry is simply enchanting.
The softlight yellow of the citrine, the delicately coordinated pink hues of the tourmalines, the delicate sky blue of aquamarine and
the silky white of the seed pearls blend into a dreamlike, almost painterly harmony.
These soft, pastel shades lend the necklace a romantic lightness and
vividly reflect the distinctive design language of the Belle Époque and Art Nouveau.
This antique necklace is in very good condition with minor age-related signs of wear.
This antique necklace combines the finest goldsmithing with the distinctive aesthetics of Art Nouveau.
Its delicate design, the floral elements, the graceful butterfly shape, and the heavenly beautiful pastel colors
lend it a rare charm.
It is far more than a piece of jewelry—it is a fascinating testament to an era in which elegance, nature, and art
blended together in perfect harmony.
An extraordinary original from the Belle Époque that instantly captivates lovers of antique jewelry.
