A stunning Biedermeier demi-parure in 555 gold with natural pearls in its original case—circa 1835/1840:
An exceptionally rare jewelry set from the heyday of the Biedermeier period:
This magnificent demi-parure was created around 1835 to 1840 and embodies the elegance and masterful goldsmithing
of the Biedermeier period in its most beautiful form.
The set consists of a finely crafted brooch and a perfectly matching pair of earrings, and
is still preserved today in its original, contemporary leather case —a rarity that further underscores the historical and
collectible value of this set.
The demi-parure was crafted from 575 gold. The elaborate design, executed entirely by hand, is particularly charming.
At the center of each piece of jewelry is an artfully crafted vine leaf,
whose finely matte surface creates a fascinating contrast to the highly polished gold elements.
The three-dimensional rendering of the leaves lends the set an extraordinary vitality and
attests to the exceptional craftsmanship of early 19th-century goldsmiths.
Each vine leaf is set with a delicate natural pearl . During the Biedermeier period, floral motifs such as vine leaves,
flowers, and tendrils symbolized a connection to nature, harmony, and enduring stability—themes that profoundly shaped this era.
The elegant combination of warm, shimmering gold, delicate natural pearls, and
the finely engraved surfaces gives the demi-parure its timeless allure.
The brooch is further enhanced by an elegantly swaying teardrop pendant,
while the earrings harmoniously echo the brooch’s design and perfectly round out the ensemble.
It is extremely rare today to find such a set that has been preserved in its entirety.
Particularly noteworthy is the exceptionally good condition.
After nearly 190 years , the demi-parure remains in remarkably well-preserved original condition.
The original case has also been preserved—a detail that is extremely
and which impressively underscores its authentic character.
Complete demi-parures from the Biedermeier period are among the most sought-after items on the international antiques market today.
Over the course of the past centuries, many sets were sold separately, altered, or melted down.
A fully preserved set with its original case of this quality is therefore a true rarity.
This exquisite demi-parure is far more than a piece of jewelry—it is a significant testament to European goldsmithing
of the 19th century and a wonderful opportunity for collectors and connoisseurs of authentic antique jewelry.
A rare set of exceptional elegance, whose beauty has withstood the test of time virtually untouched.
