These ravishingly beautiful antique stud earrings date from the late Art Deco period around 1940 and

a combination that unites sophistication and contrast in perfect harmony.

At the center of each ear stud is a magnificent, bright blue aquamarine in a classic emerald cut,

whose precisely cut facets catch the light in a fascinating way.

The stones shine in a clear, aquatic blue - a color that has been associated with purity for centuries,

Associated with purity, courage and serenity.

Aquamarine is a symbol of the sea and was known in ancient times as the "stone of mermaids".

It is said to protect its wearer from mischief on journeys and promote inner peace, vision and emotional balance.

Its calming colors and crystalline transparency give these earrings a sublime, almost ethereal aura,

almost ethereal aura.

The upper section of the earrings is artfully designed in flowing, wave-like lines - inspired by natural forms,

that are reminiscent of sea plants, fish fins or stylized mermaids.

Small old-cut diamonds sit between these organic, gold-plated shapes,

set in platinum, whose cool brilliance harmoniously complements the maritime colors of the aquamarines.

This sculptural, slightly asymmetrical design gives the earrings an almost sculptural effect.

The interplay of gold, platinum, diamonds and aquamarines creates a luxurious yet flowing look,

typical of the transition from Art Déco to the early retro era.

The backs are finely crafted and feature screw caps as were typical in the 1930s and 1940s.

This underlines the originality and authenticity of the pair.

The ear studs are in a very good state of preservation, with a beautiful shine,

clear stones and excellent craftsmanship.

A rare, masterfully crafted pair of antique Art Deco stud earrings - elegant, nautically inspired and

full of symbolic radiance.

Aquamarine - Latin aqua marina ("sea water") - is also considered a stone of calm, love and clarity.

It has been revered since ancient times as a protective stone for sailors and stands for courage, peace and harmony.
