This beautiful antique ring dates from the Art Deco period around 1920/30.

It is crafted in 14 carat yellow gold. The ring head is designed in a hexagonal shield shape and set with a

set with a trio of diamonds in a horizontal heron shape. The three diamonds are of a similar size and cut and are often

are often surrounded by smaller diamond roses, as well as millegriff technique with stylized foliage,

to highlight the trio and make the ring even more sparkling.

Millegriff or millegrain is a decorative technique that became popular in the Art Deco era (ca. 1920s to 1930s)

and was used in the manufacture of jewelry.

It is a fine edge or texture that is created on the surface of a piece of jewelry,

by pressing small teeth or grains into the metal.

This creates an optical effect as if the metal had been decorated with a thousand fine grains.

This technique was often used to add extra brilliance and texture to gemstones or diamonds set in the jewelry,

It was often used in combination with other decorative techniques such as engraving or carving,
