- Open text field 1: Fantastic Art Deco bracelet with enamel painting around 1920
The ancient Egyptians discovered and perfected the art of enameling as a natural development of glassmaking.
Enamel is a translucent or opaque glass flow that is applied to metal or ceramics or fitted into metal. In enamel jewelry, the metal can be gold, silver, copper or brass.
Here we see a great antique bracelet from the Art Deco period, which probably comes from Norway.
It was worked using the so-called guilloche technique. Two similar techniques are used here, in which rays or two-dimensional patterns are cut into the metal base; translucent layers of enamel are applied on top to create an iridescent effect.
This technique is called "Tour á Guillocher" in French.
This technique was used particularly in the late 18th and 19th centuries for medallions, jewelry, tobacco and powder boxes, etc.
This gorgeous bracelet is crafted from solid silver and consists of five large rectangular main links enameled in cornflower blue.
These are each connected with a white enameled flower in a great Art Deco style.
This great stylish bracelet is hallmarked with 925 silver and is in excellent condition.
Material: 925 silver hallmarked and enameled
